What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, highly-available backend services within an event-based architecture.
• Collaborate with Product and UX teams to build customer-facing features.
• Implement a testing-first approach to ensure system reliability and scalability.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure production stability.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks to enhance system performance and robustness.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on backend systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (JVM languages like Java/Groovy preferred).
• Experience building performant services and working with REST APIs.
• English: C1 level fluency required for effective communication
• Location: Must be based in or able to work from Budapest

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis).
• Knowledge of Kafka, Elasticsearch, and Apache Spark.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
