What you will do

• Develop and maintain the hirify.global Data Engineering technical stack with a focus on Spark and Iceberg runtimes.
• Drive architecture and design discussions to provide strong technical direction for the team.
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional partners to deliver critical features for data engineering workflows.
• Work on large-scale distributed systems managing thousands of nodes in production clusters.
• Mentor engineers and support their career growth within the infrastructure team.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Budapest, Hungary.
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in the infrastructure space.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of: Java, Scala, C++, or Python.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and building systems at scale.
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and public/private cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Solid experience with Apache Spark or Apache Iceberg.
