Senior Staff Firmware Engineer (Embedded): Designing and maintaining firmware for high-speed optical component platforms with an accent on RISC-V multi-core MCU architecture and proprietary DSP data paths. Location: Must be based in Santa Clara, CA
Salary: $131,010–$196,300 per annum

What you will do
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for high-speed optical components.
- Own software architecture and development for specific design blocks end-to-end.
- Lead product bring-ups and collaborate with hardware and systems teams on validation.
- Optimize firmware performance, reliability, and power consumption.
- Develop Python-based tools for in-field debug, status, and control.
- Mentor team members and drive technical documentation and code reviews.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical/Software Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in memory-constrained embedded C/C++ firmware development.
- Expertise in microprocessor architectures (ARM or RISC-V) and embedded SoC design.
- Strong hands-on debug skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with SERDES, Coherent DSP, or Ethernet/PCIe PHYs.
- Familiarity with mixed-signal control and PID/feedback loop control.
- Experience with bare-metal or Linux kernel development.
- Knowledge of digital verification flows and hardware languages like Verilog.
