What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for high-speed optical components.
• Own software architecture and development for specific design blocks end-to-end.
• Lead product bring-ups and collaborate with hardware and systems teams on validation.
• Optimize firmware performance, reliability, and power consumption.
• Develop Python-based tools for in-field debug, status, and control.
• Mentor team members and drive technical documentation and code reviews.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical/Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in memory-constrained embedded C/C++ firmware development.
• Expertise in microprocessor architectures (ARM or RISC-V) and embedded SoC design.
• Strong hands-on debug skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with SERDES, Coherent DSP, or Ethernet/PCIe PHYs.
• Familiarity with mixed-signal control and PID/feedback loop control.
• Experience with bare-metal or Linux kernel development.
• Knowledge of digital verification flows and hardware languages like Verilog.
