What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded C firmware for RISC-V-based multi-core MCUs controlling proprietary DSP data paths.
• Own the software architecture, development, and end-to-end testing for specific firmware blocks.
• Lead bring-ups for next-generation products, including travel to worldwide offices in Ottawa, California, Italy, and Vietnam.
• Develop C SDKs for customer interfacing and Python-based GUIs for in-field debugging and control.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to drive root cause analysis for complex debug efforts.
• Optimize firmware for enhanced performance, reliability, and power efficiency.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical/Software Engineering with 2-5+ years of experience in memory-constrained embedded C/C++ development.
• Technical ownership experience in embedded projects, from architecture and design to customer volume production.
• Proficiency with ARM or RISC-V architectures and deep understanding of SoC/micro-controller internals (GPIOs, ISRs, RTOS).
• Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, MDIO, and UART.
• Expert programming skills in C and Python, with working knowledge of Git, Linux, and gdb.
• English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law

Nice to have

• Experience with SERDES, Coherent DSP, or Optical Module software.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal control, PID/feedback loops, and monitoring.
• Experience with bare-metal development or Linux kernel development.
• Familiarity with Verilog, FPGA emulation, or digital verification test flows.
• Understanding of Ethernet networking from the OSI model up to the data link level.
