TL;DR

Salary: $159,500–$271,200 annually

What you will do

  • Develop requirement specifications, test plans, calibration procedures, manufacturing procedures, and service documentation.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, optical, electrical, software, and other systems engineering groups to define and review designs.
  • Participate in prototype integration and testing of assemblies, subsystems, and complete inspection systems.
  • Execute tests and analyze results to validate system performance.
  • Troubleshoot system and subsystem issues and implement solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Support internal and external customers in building, using, and optimizing inspection tools; lead troubleshooting in manufacturing and field environments.

Requirements

  • Doctorate, or 2 years of relevant work experience; master's degree, or 4 years of relevant work experience; bachelor's degree, or 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong engineering or physical science background with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in optics, opto-mechanics, and motion control systems.
  • Experience in system engineering, mechatronics, optical systems, imaging systems, complex systems, or vacuum systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to share technical information with functional groups and provide executive-level reports.
  • Primary work location: Milpitas, California, United States. Occasional travel is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with lasers, illumination systems, and CCD/CMOS cameras.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Ability to respond quickly to field and internal escalations in a fast-paced program.
