Application Engineer - Early Career (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed. Access to export-controlled technology may require U.S. export license review; applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information.

Expected base pay: $94,160–$141,000 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Support hirify.global’s AEC PAM4 DSP products and drive customer technical issues through resolution.
• Serve as the primary interface between customers and hirify.global engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Field Application Engineers, Product Line Managers, marketing, engineering, and sales teams to communicate customer needs and support design wins.
• Review customer schematics and layouts, perform hands-on cable bring-up and debugging, and manage technical issues.
• Provide remote or on-site troubleshooting and support customer lab and field trials.
• Analyze customer target markets and application environments to prioritize design requirements and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Experience with C and Python.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits and system-level hardware.
• Proficiency with high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic or protocol analyzers, and traffic generators.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and task-prioritization skills; willingness to travel to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Prior Application Engineer experience, especially resolving customer issues.
• Familiarity with high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity, board assembly, and manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience validating SerDes TX and RX systems.
• Experience designing or debugging embedded microcontroller systems, preferably 32-bit ARM Cortex-M.
