Legal Counsel - Corporate (Fintech)

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska, United States

Salary: $125,000–$165,000 per year, depending on experience, plus bonus opportunities, stock awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including SaaS customer agreements, MSAs, SOWs, partnership agreements, NDAs, and vendor contracts.
• Provide practical legal advice to sales, procurement, operations, and product teams while identifying and escalating material risks.
• Support corporate governance, entity maintenance, board materials, compliance activities, and corporate filings.
• Assist with M&A, structured finance, joint venture, and restructuring transactions under senior attorney supervision.
• Manage discrete outside counsel projects and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal guidelines.
• Collaborate with finance, IT, security, compliance, sales, and product teams to improve contract lifecycle management and legal function efficiency.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Admission to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial, SaaS, or technology-related agreements.
• Experience with general corporate and transactional matters.
• Strong communication, analytical, judgment, prioritization, and practical business-advisory skills.

Nice to have

• Prior in-house experience at a technology or financial services company.
• Experience with corporate governance, capital markets, structured finance, M&A, or routine transaction matters.
