Senior Legal Counsel (SaaS/AI)

Location: Remote within the United States, with flexibility across U.S. time zones. Hiring is currently unavailable in Quebec, Ontario, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The role requires less than 10% business travel.

Base salary: $153,000–$170,000 annually, plus a variable component.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer, vendor, partner, licensing, SaaS, NDA, and other commercial agreements.
• Standardize contract forms, templates, and playbooks with business teams to improve deal execution.
• Support the compliance program and advise commercial and product teams on regulatory matters.
• Advise on privacy, data security, AI-related legal risks, and emerging AI laws and regulations.
• Evaluate and implement contract lifecycle management, AI-assisted drafting, and other legal technology tools.
• Support corporate governance, intellectual property, and other general corporate matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 5–7 years of relevant legal experience, including commercial contract drafting and negotiation, compliance, and privacy.
• At least 3–4 years of in-house experience in the SaaS or technology industry.
• Interest in artificial intelligence and willingness to use generative AI tools and legal technology platforms.
• Strong communication skills, practical legal judgment, and a business-minded approach to risk.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not provided.
