What you will do

• Advise product, technology, and business teams on privacy, AI, and cybersecurity compliance.
• Support strategic growth in the UK and EU, including leading Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Maintain the GDPR compliance program and evaluate the application of the EU AI Act.
• Serve as an escalation point for privacy and AI-related contract negotiations.
• Support public policy initiatives and draft responses to regulatory proposals.
• Participate in incident response and deliver privacy-related training across the organization.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree required.
• Must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or Ontario, or eligible for membership.
• 5–8 years of experience in privacy, AI, or emerging technology law.
• Strong ability to collaborate across business, technology, and risk teams.
• Knowledge of global privacy laws, including GDPR, PIPEDA, and US privacy laws.

Nice to have

• IAPP or similar professional certification.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated industries.
• Exposure to global teams and cross-border compliance challenges.
