TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Franchise/Marketing): Providing proactive business and legal affairs counsel to franchise brand management and marketing teams with an accent on marketing regulations, advertising standards, and data protection. Focus on drafting ancillary agreements for campaigns, influencer partnerships, and sponsorships while managing time-sensitive escalations in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Must be based in Toronto, Canada (Hybrid model)

Salary: CAD 140,000 - CAD 155,000

What you will do

  • Serve as a trusted legal partner for marketing campaigns, content creation, and promotional events.
  • Draft and review ancillary agreements for sponsorships, influencer partnerships, and social media activations.
  • Monitor and translate marketing, advertising, and data protection regulations into practical advice.
  • Manage and resolve time-sensitive legal escalations to support business objectives.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal business units.

Requirements

  • LLB/JD degree and member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
  • 1-2 years of industry experience in entertainment, media, marketing, or advertising.
  • Proven legal and business judgment for effective decision-making.
  • Excellent drafting, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
