What you will do
- Lead an operations department to deliver operational objectives across safety, quality, reliability, cost, continuous improvement, and employee morale.
- Drive continuous improvement using kaizen and Lean principles, including daily shop-floor problem solving and eliminating waste.
- Implement and sustain a pull system producing to customer demand using takt time and one-piece-flow.
- Ensure zero defects by identifying root causes of quality issues, partnering with customer service and corporate quality teams, and managing compliance to HMI quality plan and ISO 9000.
- Ensure 100% on-time delivery of quality products and maintain a safe working environment aligned with safety training and 5-S principles.
- Manage staffing and development: select and train employees, coach performance, and hold direct labor accountable to standardized work.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of successful supervisory experience in an operations environment, or 4 years of leadership experience directing the work of others with proven results.
- Proficiency in ISO quality systems fundamentals and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to resolve conflict, make appropriate decisions, and communicate effectively (verbal and nonverbal) with professionalism.
- Ability to use office automation/communication software and tools used in the office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues and drive systemic thinking, integrity, customer orientation, and talent development.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
