Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering (Fintech)

Location: Menlo Park, California office; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $196,000–$230,000 USD for Zone 1; $172,000–$202,000 USD for Zone 2; $153,000–$179,000 USD for Zone 3, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Define, build, and evolve foundational datasets across Robinhood product areas.
• Build scalable Python, Spark, and Airflow pipelines that ingest application events and database snapshots into the data lake.
• Improve data generation patterns in partnership with upstream engineering teams.
• Design intuitive, well-documented data models with data consumers across the company.
• Contribute to shared data engineering tooling, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building end-to-end data pipelines.
• Production-level software engineering experience with Python for applications, services, or systems.
• Expertise building and maintaining large-scale pipelines with open-source frameworks such as Spark or Flink.
• Strong SQL skills, including Presto or Spark SQL.
• Experience solving problems across data infrastructure, analytics, and visualization platforms.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights and solutions.
