Consultant - Retail Performance Improvement

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; approximately 80% travel to client sites, with the remaining 20% combining remote work and/or work from a BRG office. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.

Salary: $90,000–$160,000 annually, plus potential discretionary annual incentive.

What you will do

• Support retail performance improvement engagements by analyzing operations and developing recommendations.
• Conduct client interviews, operational and financial modeling, scenario planning, and presentations.
• Analyze retail performance, inventory, customer experience, product-to-market execution, sales, margins, sourcing, and organizational effectiveness.
• Prepare reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
• Collaborate with BRG experts, external professionals, client contacts, and senior stakeholders.
• Support marketing, client pitches, and the development of the consulting practice.

Requirements

• Four years of related consulting experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance, management, engineering, economics, mathematics, or a related field; alternatively, an MBA with prior retail industry experience.
• Experience in retail, direct-to-consumer, consumer goods, or consulting for similar clients.
• Expertise in at least one relevant function, such as sourcing, product-to-market strategy, consumer analytics, digital commerce, store and omnichannel operations, distribution, transportation, or procurement.
• Experience developing financial and operational analyses and implementing resulting improvements.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of data, develop insights, communicate recommendations, and manage multiple priorities.
• United States work authorization is required without company sponsorship.
