Senior Accountant

TL;DR

Senior Accountant (Finance): Supporting the finance organization by ensuring accurate financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls with an accent on US GAAP compliance and technical accounting. Location: Must be based in or able to commute to the Melville, New York office 5 days a week.

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead components of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP standards.
• Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for financial statement audits.
• Research and interpret complex accounting issues such as ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Partner with FP&A, Legal, and Sales teams to ensure accurate financial treatment of contracts and spend.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives for financial reporting.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite in Melville, NY, 5 days a week.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA.
• Experience in fintech, SaaS, or PE-backed environments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite.
• Experience with ASC 606 revenue or ASC 842 lease accounting.
