What you will do
- Prepare win plans for strategic bids and tenders.
- Own successful delivery of all project stages to meet programme milestones and support mobilisation of new projects.
- Approve scope of works, plans, and estimates for each project element; manage programme, quality plan, and project risk register.
- Run project programme, risk & change management, internal budget control, cash flow, and EVM analysis; produce monthly reports.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with NEC contract terms, scope of work, and variations log.
- Lead SHE culture and drive “Safety by Design”, including early life-cycle risk minimisation and resolution of project issues as a troubleshooter.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing EHV/HV to 132kV cabling projects through design, construction, commissioning, and close-out, including programme and planning management.
- Experience working with National Grid, SSE, SPENW, and similar Transmission & Distribution network operators.
- Knowledge of street works, permit submission requirements, and local/council liaison.
- Commercial understanding including NEC forms of contract; ability to manage design requirements with commercial budgets.
- Understanding of engineering principles and CDM principles; knowledge of cabling installation techniques and NG/SSE/SPENW technical standards.
- Full driving licence and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
