What you will do
- Maintain expertise in the OpenEye product line, research pipeline, vision, and philosophy.
- Communicate and demonstrate the value of OpenEye/ solutions to customers, securing renewals and new sales (including SMB segment) via video, phone, email, and site visits.
- Manage complex sales cycles, including contract negotiations, and help grow existing and new markets.
- Coordinate regional activities such as software evaluations with application scientists and technology specialists; support global accounts with sales colleagues.
- Generate and manage quotes and sales opportunities in Salesforce (or other systems), and provide territory financial updates.
- Develop and execute a regional sales growth plan with application scientists; attend scientific conferences and internal meetings; travel to customer sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific field, with a preference for chemistry or biology.
- 5+ years of successful experience selling software, services, or hardware into technical markets, ideally in early-stage pharmaceutical/biotech research.
- Ability to call across an organization and drive high-value, complex sales with multiple decision makers and stakeholders.
- Understanding of the drug discovery market relevant to the customer ecosystem.
- Proven ability to identify customer pain points and communicate them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the complete sales process and interact effectively with engineering and finance stakeholders.
