Salary: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support R&D of precision inertial guidance instruments for existing customers.
• Design instrument components using CAD and FEA software tools.
• Collaborate with the prototype machine shop to evaluate component machinability.
• Work with technicians to build, test, and debug hardware.
• Coordinate with the Center for Additive Manufacturing for 3D printed parts.
• Apply modeling and analysis software to various engineering applications.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen (Dual-citizens are not eligible).
• Currently enrolled student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or a similar field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical design.
• Must be available for a 6-month commitment from July through December 2026.

Nice to have

• Experience with CREO or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of magnetics, thermal control, or fluids.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Excel.
• Experience with technical assembly and machine shop interaction.
