Development Engineer (Mechanical)

Salary: $60,000–$80,000 Annually

What you will do

• Create and modify mechanical requirements and designs for new and existing avionics products.
• Evaluate customer requests and formulate conceptual designs that meet technical and quality specifications.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to define and implement hardware requirements.
• Support drafting, documentation, and configuration management using PLM databases.
• Investigate and resolve production issues related to material and manufacturing processes.
• Design and develop test fixtures for environmental product testing.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to export-controlled information requirements.
• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in an engineering or product testing/manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of 3D parametric CAD software and GD&T.
• Experience with drafting and design per ANSI standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Altium.
• Experience with Electronic Design Architecture (EDA) and CAD/CAM.
• Familiarity with product safety documentation and quality processes.
