Location: Remote (USA). Must be based in the USA and have the legal right to work without company sponsorship.

Salary: $90,000 – $135,000 per year

What you will do

• Translate clinical practice into accurate documentation to support coding, quality reporting, and case mix integrity.
• Conduct comprehensive inpatient medical record reviews for identified payer populations throughout hospitalization.
• Serve as an educational resource, delivering classroom training and hands-on mentoring to client CDI teams.
• Analyze clinical information to identify documentation gaps related to SOI, POA, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and PSI.
• Collaborate with coding teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses.
• Assist in developing CDI and HIM training tools, methodologies, and educational materials.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA with legal right to work without sponsorship.
• RN or clinical background with 2-5 years of consulting experience required (RNs without consulting experience will not be considered).
• Willingness to travel consistently (50% - 75%) based on project requirements.
• Current CCDS, CCS, or CDIP certification, or willingness and ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT, HIM, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of DRG, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and HCC methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience working within an academic medical center.
• RHIA, RHIT, CRC, CPC, or other professional coding credentials.
• Proficiency with EMRs such as Epic, Meditech, Cerner, or 3M 360.
• Background in clinical operations, quality, or clinical transformation advisory.
