What you will do

• Administer and improve safety systems, including incident reporting and action item tracking.
• Conduct safety training, perform audits, and provide coaching to plant employees.
• Facilitate weekly safety meetings and identify risks in equipment or procedures.
• Assist with waste management and the preparation of federal, state, and local environmental reports.
• Lead near-miss and incident investigations to identify root causes and preventative actions.
• Review process changes and projects to ensure environmental and safety compliance.

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
• 4–6+ years of Environmental or Safety leadership experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
• Familiarity with federal and state environmental and safety regulations.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex, evolving regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication skills for building supportive relationships with hourly employees.
