What you will do

• Install, configure, and secure SQL Server infrastructure across on-premise and Azure environments.
• Provide production support and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Lead modernization projects including cloud migrations and Azure deployments.
• Develop and implement robust backup, recovery, and database management strategies.
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Mentor team members and drive technical excellence through Root Cause Analysis.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK with the ability to travel to the Knowsley office quarterly.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and T-SQL development.
• Expertise in high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Proven experience with Azure database environments and automation using PowerShell or Azure CLI.
• Background in database security and compliance standards like PCI/SOX.
• Understanding of Agentic AI fundamentals and automation practices.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, or Couchbase.
