What you will do
- Define and document build and inspection processes for primary and secondary spacecraft structures.
- Develop and refine manufacturing procedures while creating standardized work instructions.
- Collaborate with design engineers to evaluate and optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Create 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute capital equipment and facility upgrades.
- Ensure all structural components and assembly processes comply with aerospace industry standards like NASA, FAA, and ASME.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structural manufacturing within the aerospace or space industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX) and PDM systems.
- Strong understanding of composite materials, metallic structures, and assembly/inspection methodologies.
- Expertise in Drawing Creation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards (NASA, FAA, DoD, MIL-STD).
Nice to have
- Experience in a startup environment.
- Hands-on experience with composite fabrication and testing.
- Knowledge of load paths, structural dynamics, and fatigue analysis (FEMAP, Simcenter).
- Familiarity with design for additive manufacturing.
