Senior Solutions Engineer – Systems Integration (BESS)

Location: US, Louisville, CO; flexible work anywhere in the US is possible. Travel to factories and project sites is approximately 25%.

Salary: $113,000–$141,525 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end systems engineering for BESS products from requirements definition through deployment and operation.
• Develop system requirements, interface control documents, specifications, compliance matrices, and integration documentation.
• Integrate energy storage, power conversion systems, safety, controls, and communications subsystems.
• Review electrical and controls designs, support prototype builds and certification testing, and align system validation plans with applicable standards.
• Provide technical authority for BESS architecture in utility-scale projects and troubleshoot complex field issues.
• Perform root cause analysis, drive corrective actions, and provide safety and emergency-response training to internal and external teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience developing and integrating BESS or complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong experience with electrical systems, energy storage, controls, and power electronics.
• Experience working with multiple OEMs and integrators, supporting fielded systems, and troubleshooting after installation.
• Knowledge of BESS standards and codes, including UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 110/111, NFPA 72, NFPA 68/69, and related electrical requirements.
• Willingness to travel to factories and project sites approximately 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with utility-scale BESS deployments.
• Hands-on experience with battery and electrical test equipment.
