TL;DR

Director, Product Management (Medtech): Leading the development and optimization of consumables for a pump portfolio with an accent on P&L management, cross-functional strategy, and regulatory compliance. Focus on driving product roadmaps, engaging with clinical stakeholders, and delivering innovative medical device solutions in an FDA-regulated environment.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Del Mar, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $190,000–$215,000

What you will do

  • Lead the definition, launch, and ongoing management of internal consumables programs.
  • Define strategies and roadmaps while championing consumables across the organization.
  • Establish networks with clinical Key Opinion Leaders and regulatory bodies to drive innovation.
  • Identify market needs through voice of customer (VOC) research and build robust business cases.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Monitor competitive activity and product KPIs to provide strategic updates to management.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available).
  • 12+ years of experience in product management, development, or planning.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience with visibility to senior management.
  • Direct experience delivering commercial products in consumer-facing medical devices.
  • Proven experience operating within an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and waterfall development methodologies.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Experience in the diabetes industry.
  • Advanced training in marketing or data science.
