TL;DR

Consultant – Clinical Performance Improvement (Emergency Department) (Healthcare): Analyzing and benchmarking emergency department and clinical performance to deliver evidence-based recommendations and project plans with an accent on throughput, quality infrastructure, and operational efficiency. Focus on translating clinical and operational data into actionable client deliverables while supporting or leading CPI workstreams and SME activities.

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: $90,000 - $135,000 per year

What you will do

  • Support CPI project workstreams under a workstream/portfolio SME or serve as SME for core knowledge areas.
  • Assist SMEs in assessment and implementation deliverables, including establishing client processes and policies to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor implemented workstreams and provide timely feedback to CPI SMEs as directed.
  • Independently meet with clients and executives and create client-facing materials (e.g., slide decks) to advance project deliverables.
  • Analyze organizational performance vs. industry standards and develop recommendations and executive project plans aligned to scope of work.
  • Lead performance improvement work teams and smaller initiatives to enhance emergency department process improvement and throughput.

Requirements

  • Work authorization: Must be able to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical performance improvement consulting, or 5–10 years in a relevant role with relevant licensure/certifications and at least 2 years in a relevant leadership role (e.g., nurse manager).
  • Bachelor’s degree required in health or related field; Master’s preferred (or must enroll and earn within three years of hire).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong operational knowledge of care management, patient placement/portal of entry, throughput processes, discharge barrier mitigation, and post-acute care.
  • Operational knowledge of emergency departments and standards of care, including EMTALA, ESI triage, staffing skill-mix to demand methodologies, and emergency care throughput from arrival to departure.

Nice to have

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, Tableau experience, and/or emergency services clinical experience with relevant licensure/certifications (e.g., NRP, CTRN, CFRN).
  • Leadership experience in emergency care settings and Board Certification of Emergency Nursing.
