Instructional Coach (Math)

TL;DR

Instructional Coach (Math): Supporting educators in Montgomery County Public Schools by providing on-site coaching, professional development, and curriculum implementation support. Location: Must reside in or near Montgomery County, MD and be able to travel locally to schools up to 4 days per week.

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000

What you will do

• Lead classroom observations and provide actionable feedback to teachers and school leaders.
• Conduct model lessons and co-teach alongside classroom educators to demonstrate best practices.
• Analyze student work and formative assessment data to guide instructional responsiveness.
• Support unit and lesson planning with grade-level teams and individual teachers.
• Facilitate professional development sessions for district staff both in-person and remotely.
• Collaborate with district leadership to determine coaching strategies and focus areas.

Requirements

• Must reside in or near Montgomery County, MD and be able to travel locally up to 4 days per week.
• 5+ years of 6-8 math teaching experience with demonstrable student results.
• Experience leading sustained coaching engagements and professional development for K-5 or 6-8 educators.
• Deep knowledge of problem-based learning and change management processes.
• Experience supporting high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) implementation for diverse student populations, including English Learners and students with IEPs.
• Proficiency in Google Applications and strong oral/written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Deep knowledge of Maryland’s Mathematics Standards.
• Experience teaching or supporting Desmos Math or hirify.global Desmos Math.
• Master’s or Advanced Degree in Education.
