Location: Must be based in Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid model).

What you will do

  • Ensure full compliance with Japanese employment legislation and proactively implement best practices.
  • Provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders and line managers on all employee relations matters.
  • Drive the local People Plan by coordinating and delivering strategic projects aligned with the employee lifecycle.
  • Advise leadership on initiatives to enhance company culture, engagement, and wellbeing.
  • Use data and analytics to support people management decisions and improve HR service delivery.
  • Collaborate with global HR functions including Payroll, Recruitment, and Operations to streamline processes.

Requirements

  • Must have extensive experience as an HR Generalist (min. 5 years) with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of and experience working within Japanese employment legislation.
  • Must be based in Tokyo, Japan.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across diverse cultures.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases independently.
  • Proficiency in HR systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office.
