What you will do
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for Japan while supporting broader APJ regional initiatives.
- Coach people managers on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with HR Ops and payroll teams to ensure compliance and accuracy for the local workforce.
- Facilitate core HR programs including annual reviews, total rewards, and engagement surveys.
- Build and scale HR processes from the ground up, ensuring global policies are localized for Japan.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Recruitment, Finance, and Legal to execute workforce plans.
Requirements
- 10+ years of total HR experience with at least 5 years in a Senior HRBP or equivalent role.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) is required.
- Deep knowledge of Japan labor law and HR practices.
- Must have the legal right to work in Japan without visa sponsorship.
- Experience supporting Director-level leadership and influencing mid-to-senior management.
- Operational mindset with the ability to handle HR Ops and payroll matters.
