What you will do

• Act as the primary HR point of contact for Japan while supporting broader APJ regional initiatives.
• Coach people managers on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness.
• Collaborate with HR Ops and payroll teams to ensure compliance and accuracy for the local workforce.
• Facilitate core HR programs including annual reviews, total rewards, and engagement surveys.
• Build and scale HR processes from the ground up, ensuring global policies are localized for Japan.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Recruitment, Finance, and Legal to execute workforce plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of total HR experience with at least 5 years in a Senior HRBP or equivalent role.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) is required.
• Deep knowledge of Japan labor law and HR practices.
• Must have the legal right to work in Japan without visa sponsorship.
• Experience supporting Director-level leadership and influencing mid-to-senior management.
• Operational mindset with the ability to handle HR Ops and payroll matters.
