What you will do
- Assist higher-level Electrical Test Technicians with wiring, setting up, and operating test equipment.
- Perform limited tests involving circuits carrying secondary voltages up to 250 volts under supervision.
- Inspect, maintain, adjust, and repair electrical and electronic equipment used for voltage regulation.
- Learn to test and troubleshoot substation, distribution, and transmission equipment, including circuit breakers, transformers, generators, batteries, regulators, and capacitor banks.
- Record measurements, prepare field notes and test reports, and update electronic databases and computer-based systems.
- Drive company vehicles to equipment locations, substations, company facilities, and customer premises.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a two-year electrical or electronic degree, or equivalent education and two years of electrical or electronic work experience.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License required. A CDL is optional, with expenses reimbursed.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, demonstrated through a written test or technical assessment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company-specific software and electronic communication systems.
- Ability to work in enclosed spaces, outdoors, during storms, and at night, with regular exposure to hazardous conditions.
- Successful background check required for access to designated secured areas.

- Completion of the company’s Electrical Test Technician training program.
- Experience as an Electrical Test Technician I and successful completion of job-related skill verifications.
