Engineering Technician (Non-Degreed)

Location: Conroe, Texas, with travel throughout the Houston area, Texas, and occasional out-of-state project sites. U.S. Persons only due to ITAR export-control requirements.

What you will do

• Assist with inspections and field or load testing of roof anchors, davit systems, lifelines, suspended access equipment, and other fall-protection systems.
• Support installation, repair, and retrofit projects for building access, fall protection, and lightning protection systems.
• Use hand and power tools for drilling, anchoring, bolting, assembly, layout, and equipment installation.
• Work safely on rooftops, near roof edges, and at heights while using required fall-protection equipment.
• Collect site measurements, photographs, equipment information, and field notes for inspection and project reports.
• Coordinate professionally with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, customers, contractors, and other field personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with common hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot, assemble, install, and repair equipment in the field.
• Comfort working outdoors, in construction or commercial-building environments, at heights, and near roof edges.
• Ability and willingness to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, follow safety procedures, and travel to project sites.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee status, or asylum status in the United States.

Nice to have

• Construction, inspection, commercial building maintenance, or mechanical and equipment installation experience.
• Fall protection, suspended access, BMU, rope access, work-at-heights, anchor testing, or load testing experience.
• Welding, fabrication, electrical, lightning protection, concrete drilling, or mechanical or adhesive anchoring experience.
• Ground Penetrating Radar experience or training.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
