What you will do
- Act as sole commercial owner for 3–5 strategically critical Medical Affairs accounts, building long-term account visions aligned to client MA objectives.
- Lead senior-level discussions on evidence dissemination, scientific narrative, and MA impact, including involvement before briefs exist.
- Position Springer Health+ as a scientific partner using publications as anchors for broader scientific communication and education where appropriate.
- Provide selective strategic input to colleagues on core/growth accounts at defined moments (e.g., annual MA planning, major data milestones) without day-to-day ownership.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure clean handover from strategy to execution and involve editorial/scientific colleagues early when needed.
- Apply commercial judgement to protect value (e.g., defend publication pricing discipline, avoid commoditised execution-only work).
Requirements
- Proven experience in account direction or strategic account management (agency, med comms, scientific communications, or adjacent fields).
- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs environments and constraints.
- Comfort working with highly scientific content and senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing accounts beyond individual projects or transactions.
- Full professional fluency in English and French to operate confidently with French affiliates and global (English-speaking) Medical Affairs stakeholders.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with commercial accountability while working in a small team with shared responsibility.
