What you will do

• Lead strategy to engage Africa-based or Africa-originating UHNW individuals and philanthropic partners in global health and development.
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, and manage a portfolio of high-value relationships, driving toward significant annual portfolio commitments.
• Design partnership structures spanning philanthropic gifts, co-investment, blended finance, and other capital forms across issue areas and geographies.
• Coordinate cross-team engagement across PPT, program teams, and the Africa Regional Office/Country Offices (including Nigeria and Ethiopia).
• Represent the foundation in African philanthropic networks and support culturally resonant narratives and donor/champion development.
• Maintain rigorous partnership pipeline and portfolio tracking in Salesforce (forecasting, performance reporting, partner intelligence).

Requirements

• Legal work authorization in Kenya without visa sponsorship.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in complex partnership development, major gifts fundraising, business development, resource mobilization, investment, or strategic relationship management, with a track record of securing significant commitments or closing high-value partnerships.
• Deep contextual knowledge of how philanthropy, business, and civil society intersect across Sub-Saharan Africa, including how partnerships and deals are structured.
• Demonstrated experience engaging and managing relationships with UHNW individuals and/or family offices and/or institutional partners, including multi-year commitments.
• Experience shaping and managing complex partnerships across multiple partners, issue areas, and geographies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English to engage and influence UHNW audiences and senior decision-makers.
