What you will do

• Define and execute the technical strategy for modernizing legacy Windows applications into web-based SaaS solutions.
• Provide architectural oversight and establish coding standards across the development team.
• Line-manage and mentor a growing team of developers across UK and international locations.
• Own and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, security practices, and CI/CD deployment processes.
• Promote the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to translate business objectives into actionable technical plans.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK.
• Proven experience in software development with legacy desktop technologies such as VB6, WinForms, or .NET.
• Experience leading the modernization of legacy systems into web or cloud-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage small development teams.
• Solid understanding of API design, modern authentication standards, and CI/CD workflows.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with VB6 or WinForms development.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Exposure to microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
