Senior Specialist, Workday Finance

TL;DR

Senior Specialist, Workday Finance (Workday Financials): Lead a greenfield Workday Financials implementation and then own the functional roadmap and optimization for Finance, Expenses, and Procurement across all hirify.global legal entities, with an accent on global design decisions, data/legacy migration acceptance, and compliance/localization. Focus on driving automation, controls, real-time insight, and continuous value delivery through releases, governance, security, and advanced analytics.

What you will do

• Act as the primary functional voice for Workday Core Financials, Procurement, and Expenses; represent business requirements and validate partner designs.
• Own global design for FDM/Chart of Accounts, fiscal calendars, multi-entity and multi-currency; review intercompany, consolidation, and tax design recommendations.
• Co-own data readiness and integrity: define acceptance criteria, reconciliation rules, mapping reviews, and sign off on conversion outcomes.
• Coordinate compliance and localization (including e-invoicing mandates) with Tax and local Finance; lead Finance COE workshops for P2P, O2C, and R2R.
• Define testing strategy and scenarios; oversee SIT/UAT execution, defect triage, and cutover/hypercare success measures.
• After go-live, manage the Workday Financials roadmap, backlog, releases, governance/security, analytics enablement, and finance master data stewardship.

Requirements

• Significant Workday Financials experience as a functional lead/product owner or senior consultant, including at least one full-lifecycle implementation.
• Deep functional knowledge of Core Financials (GL, AP, AR), Expenses, and Procurement, including hands-on configuration and reporting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP/IFRS concepts, intercompany, consolidations, multi-entity/multi-currency, tax/VAT, and statutory reporting.
• Comfort balancing global standards with local requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to frame options, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior Finance leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong prioritization, risk management, and execution discipline in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Workday certifications in Financials/Expenses/Procurement or Workday Pro.
• Experience with Workday EIB/Studio/Cloud Connect and familiarity with Adaptive Planning, NetSuite, and/or MuleSoft (or similar iPaaS).
• Exposure to Prism Analytics, role-based security/SoD design, and audit/SOX processes.
