TL;DR

Deputy Director, Strategic Planning & Management: Leading division-wide strategy integration and execution for the U.S. Program with an accent on aligning complex portfolios, governance frameworks, and operational rhythms. Location: Must be based in Seattle, WA or Washington D.C.

Salary: $262,200 – $406,400 USD (Seattle/DC market range).

What you will do

  • Lead the design and stewardship of division-wide strategic planning processes aligned to Ambition 2045.
  • Structure and facilitate annual and multi-year planning, budgeting, and prioritization across portfolios.
  • Design governance forums and decision-making processes to clarify ownership and accountability.
  • Surface cross-portfolio tradeoffs, operational dependencies, and resource implications for leadership.
  • Strengthen organizational alignment through integrated communication and coordination mechanisms.
  • Build a community of practice across SPM leaders to reinforce operational excellence and shared accountability.

Requirements

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the US; no sponsorship provided.
  • Advanced degree in public policy, business, organizational leadership, or related field.
  • 12+ years of leadership experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, or organizational effectiveness.
  • Proven track record leading enterprise-wide strategic planning and governance in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and fostering inclusive cultures.

Nice to have

  • Experience in philanthropy, education, economic mobility, or the public sector.
  • Background in supporting executive leadership teams or organizational transformation.
  • Familiarity with strategy, operations, finance, and talent functions in multi-portfolio organizations.
