Managing Consultant - Government Contracts & Accounting

Location: Washington, DC; candidates must have the legal right to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Advise government contracts clients on financial, cost, pricing, accounting, and compliance challenges.
• Develop customized solutions addressing contract administration, strategic business questions, operational effectiveness, and profitability.
• Conduct research and analyze literature, industry resources, client data, and public and commercial databases.
• Build and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets, financial models, and other project files.
• Prepare government contract claims, financial and statistical analyses, quality-controlled work products, and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, communicate findings clearly, and meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting and finance.
• 2–4 years of prior experience in professional or litigation services.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and exposure to analytical software such as Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Ability and willingness to expand expertise in analytical applications and legal document management software.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CFE, or CGMA are valuable.
