Government Contracting Advisory, Director

Salary: $141,900–$286,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead advisory and transformation engagements covering FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA audit readiness, cost accounting, indirect rates, business systems, and internal controls.
• Advise CFOs, Controllers, contracting leaders, compliance leaders, and technology leaders on modernization and operational effectiveness.
• Lead pursuit strategy, proposal development, solution design, pricing support, oral presentations, and account expansion.
• Assess current-state processes, controls, data flows, reporting structures, and technologies; develop future-state operating models and implementation roadmaps.
• Oversee multiple concurrent engagements, including project risks, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations.
• Mentor and develop teams while creating scalable offerings, methodologies, tools, and market-facing solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in Federal government contracting, consulting, advisory, professional services, industry, or a related environment.
• Hands-on experience with several areas including FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA audit readiness, government contract cost accounting, cost allocation, indirect rate development, CASB Disclosure Statements, incurred cost submissions, GSA Schedules, and controls documentation.
• Experience leading client-facing teams, managing multiple concurrent engagements, developing proposals, and supporting business development.
• Strong executive presence, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and professional judgment skills.
• Ability to travel as required to meet client needs.

Nice to have

• CPA, MBA, PMP, Six Sigma, or another relevant professional certification.
• Prior Director, Senior Manager, Managing Consultant, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Experience with finance modernization, process improvement, operating model transformation, or technology enablement.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar government contracting ERP platforms.
• Understanding of practical applications of artificial intelligence in government contracting, finance, accounting, compliance, audit readiness, and process automation.
