Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/React)

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $180,000–$230,000 annual base salary, plus discretionary annual target bonus, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services and React applications for real-time content delivery, monetization, and interactive web and mobile features.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered agentic workflows using LLMs, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-step workflows.
• Work with product teams to improve SEO, page speed, content caching, indexing, and overall web performance.
• Instrument product features, analyze outcomes, and iterate using analytics, experimentation, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, editors, and other stakeholders to deliver user-focused media products.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Next.js, server-side rendering, content caching, and web performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with GCP, including Cloud Run, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing.
• Experience with AI agents, LLM integrations, or agentic development patterns.
• Knowledge of secure coding, CI/CD, DevSecOps, design systems, component libraries, analytics, and A/B testing.

Nice to have

• React Native experience for mobile applications.
• Experience with Sanity or other headless CMS solutions.
• Experience with Vercel, edge functions, and serverless architecture.
• Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, ad management systems, paywalls, or content-platform analytics.
