Full Stack Software Engineer (React/Java)

Location: DC-Washington-TWP Headquarters; on-site five days a week

Salary: $98,800–$164,600 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate customer-facing subscription experiences with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Make frontend engineering decisions covering component design, state management, performance, accessibility, testing, and maintainability.
• Build and integrate backend services and APIs primarily in Java, while contributing to Node.js services, tooling, and automation.
• Own features from implementation through deployment, observability, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to monorepo libraries, build systems, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Jenkins, and Airflow.
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering and product stakeholders.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting production applications.
• At least 2 years of frontend development experience with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with backend services and APIs, preferably Java, plus Node.js services, tooling, or automation.
• Knowledge of frontend fundamentals, shared or monorepo-based codebases, AWS, CI/CD, observability, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, independent delivery of defined work, and day-to-day experience using AI-assisted engineering tools.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with AWS services, infrastructure as code, containers, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, or CloudWatch.
• Experience with design systems, reusable component architecture, Jenkins, Airflow, DataDog, or on-call production support.
