Software Engineer II

TL;DR

Software Engineer II (Backend/Cloud): Developing and optimizing complex software systems and distributed services for a healthcare platform with an accent on cloud-native architecture, database performance, and scalable API design. Focus on building robust ETL pipelines, implementing infrastructure-as-code, and advancing the software development lifecycle within a cross-functional team.

Location: Must be based in the United States. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in the New York office.

Salary: $115,000 - $150,000

What you will do

• Implement code following best practices based on technical specifications.
• Lead solution architecture for in-house development and third-party service integrations.
• Research and implement modern technology stacks, including serverless and containerized solutions.
• Develop complex software systems and distributed services with concurrent access patterns.
• Collaborate with product and operational teams to understand client needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment patterns.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Extensive experience with SQL and relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL).
• Detailed knowledge of REST API development and AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, RDS).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker).

Nice to have

• Experience with Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, pandas).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Snowflake, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of HIPAA security guidelines and SOX compliance.
• Experience in the healthcare industry.
• Experience with automated testing and TDD frameworks.
