What you will do
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships in Japan, ensuring long-term account health.
- Drive account expansion through cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across Ocean, Air, and value-added services.
- Act as the primary local point of contact for key customers to build trust and ensure service quality.
- Coordinate with Tokyo operations teams to ensure fast issue resolution and strong execution.
- Collaborate with overseas sales teams to convert global shipper relationships into Japan-origin opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, advocating for customer needs while identifying win-win solutions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in account management, sales, or supply chain operations.
- Native or business-level Japanese (verbal and written) required.
- Professional working English required.
- Strong understanding of Japan import/export trade flows and operational expectations.
- Solid working knowledge of Ocean (FCL/LCL) and Air freight.
- Proven track record of growing a book of business with Japanese enterprise customers.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting BCO and retail customers.
- Experience working in a technology-enabled freight forwarder or digital logistics platform.
- Experience as part of a country launch or new office build-out.
