What you will do

• Deliver optical network infrastructure projects from survey/tender stage through planning, execution, and acceptance.
• Supervise construction and fibre engineering vendors to expedite cabling, fibre splicing, and testing for multiple OSP projects.
• Design and review fibre optic network designs; produce costing, BoM, and installation/high-level design documents.
• Review network as-built information (including fibre analysis) and update project documentation to manage delivery, risk, and budgets.
• Coordinate stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, local authorities, ROW contacts) and support customer meetings and site visits.
• Provide on-call support to troubleshoot network outages and emergency restoration activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the telecommunications industry with outside plant (OSP), fibre optics, optical transport equipment, and project management.
• 3 years familiarity with outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
• Knowledge of OSP management including quotations, construction, RAMS, and delivery.
• Ability to read construction documents and optical test specifications/results; knowledge and use of “fast reporter” is an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel/Word, Google Docs, Visio, Google Earth, AutoCAD, and Smallworld GIS; Salesforce.com experience is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to assigned projects; ability to support on-call/out-of-hours duties with some overnight travel.
