What you will do

  • Optimise field engineering capacity, workforce allocation, shifts, leave, recruitment planning, and service-level delivery.
  • Manage a national fleet of approximately 280 vehicles, including procurement, maintenance, renewals, lifecycle decisions, and off-road processes.
  • Lead relationships with lease companies and third-party suppliers for fleet tracking, fuel cards, charging points, and parts delivery.
  • Monitor fleet costs, downtime, absence, productivity, budgets, supplier performance, and operational data.
  • Manage engineer and vehicle onboarding and offboarding, asset systems, and vehicle-related operational processes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately nine employees while driving engagement and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in fleet management, including vehicle lifecycle, leasing, maintenance, and compliance.
  • Experience managing external fleet providers, third-party suppliers, budgets, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Background in logistics, resource planning, scheduling, or field service operations.
  • Strong understanding of fleet or engineering compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to analyse data, present actionable insights, and implement performance improvements.
  • Strong communication, influencing, people management, and leadership skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with planning and scheduling systems.
  • Experience in a field service or engineering environment.
