What you will do
- Lead and mentor a manufacturing automation team responsible for high-volume assembly process development and validation.
- Drive the design and deployment of scalable, cost-effective automated processes for mass production.
- Define process architectures, throughput targets, and equipment strategies aligned with business goals.
- Act as the technical lead for automated equipment development with external suppliers from concept to production.
- Collaborate with NPI, R&D, and contract manufacturing teams to ensure robust Design for X (DFx) integration.
- Manage technical transfers to global contract manufacturing partners, including on-site support and documentation quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science.
- 8–10+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing within optoelectronics, semiconductors, or RF SMT environments.
- Proven experience leading technical teams delivering complex automation programs.
- Strong background in automation systems, equipment specification, and process control.
- Demonstrated experience applying Design for X (DFx) principles.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed to support vendors and manufacturing partners.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with robotics and advanced material handling systems.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques in manufacturing (vision systems, AOI, predictive maintenance).
- Background supporting manufacturing operations in Asia.
- Experience with qualification and reliability programs in high-tech environments.
