What you will do
- Define and own the architectural vision and roadmaps for major platform domains including orchestration and job execution.
- Perform architecture reviews and vet designs for scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
- Lead hands-on development of critical subsystems such as service meshes, scheduling, and stateful services.
- Drive cross-team architectural patterns and enforce governance standards.
- Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and security teams to ensure production operability and observability.
- Mentor senior engineers and architects to raise the overall technical maturity of the organization.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United States
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3–5 years in a principal or senior architect role.
- Proven track record of designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
- Deep hands-on experience with orchestration, scheduler systems, or workflow engines.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience with message/event systems like Kafka and in-memory stores like Redis.
- Strong knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and service mesh patterns.
