What you will do

• Define and own the architectural vision and roadmaps for major platform domains including orchestration and job execution.
• Perform architecture reviews and vet designs for scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Lead hands-on development of critical subsystems such as service meshes, scheduling, and stateful services.
• Drive cross-team architectural patterns and enforce governance standards.
• Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and security teams to ensure production operability and observability.
• Mentor senior engineers and architects to raise the overall technical maturity of the organization.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3–5 years in a principal or senior architect role.
• Proven track record of designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep hands-on experience with orchestration, scheduler systems, or workflow engines.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Experience with message/event systems like Kafka and in-memory stores like Redis.
• Strong knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and service mesh patterns.
