What you will do

  • Manage a book of business with complex, multi-state benefit structures and non-standard renewal cycles.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for C-suite and HR leadership on benefit strategies and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate renewal processes, including overlapping plan effective dates and union benefit obligations.
  • Lead benefits integration activities for client acquisitions and workforce expansions.
  • Conduct enrollment meetings and communications for diverse, technology-forward and field-based workforces.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA reporting, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be based in California or the Pacific Time Zone (PST)
  • Current resident Life and Health license required
  • 3–5+ years of experience in account management or a consultative role within a broker agency
  • Experience managing complex, multi-state accounts with 500+ lives
  • Proven experience with union workforce environments and Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Deep knowledge of ACA reporting, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA

Nice to have

  • Experience with transportation, logistics, or field-based/hourly workforce employers.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration platforms like Workday, ADP, or UKG.
  • Professional designations such as CEBS, GBA, PHR, or SHRM-CP.
  • Experience with self-funded and level-funded plan structures.
