What you will do
- Hire, develop, and manage PhD/MD translational scientists with performance metrics tied to regional data velocity, scientific rigor, and publication quality.
- Own the regional data engagement strategy and guide partnerships with oncologists, pathologists, and biometricians to unlock ctDNA and real-world datasets.
- Oversee secure regional tracking architecture and data ingestion pipelines, ensuring data compliance and integrity from investigator sites into internal analysis platforms.
- Lead cross-functional governance between field operations and internal Oncology Translational Medicine, Scientific Communications, Medical Affairs, Life Cycle, R&D, and Product Development to translate evidence into pipeline recommendations.
- Manage investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and institutional registries lifecycle in partnership with MSLs, enabling use of proprietary analytical tools and data visualization platforms for statistical robustness and manuscript generation.
- Represent as a senior scientific authority at major oncology congresses while ensuring alignment with HIPAA, CAP/CLIA, PHI protocols, FDA regulations, and PhRMA codes of interaction.
Requirements
- Location: Remote USA
- PhD or MD in Cancer Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or a related complex molecular science discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in basic or translational oncology research, including 2+ years of people management experience leading scientific or clinical teams in diagnostics/biotechnology/pharmaceutical sectors.
- Expertise in cancer biology and genetics, liquid biopsy modalities and clinical utilities, NGS and ctDNA workflows, and statistical methods.
- Proven track record managing complex genomic datasets and/or EMR integrations and clinical data registries.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 50–70% for site audits and principal investigator collaborations.
