What you will do
- Develop and execute field medical strategy and tactics, driving field intelligence and communication efforts.
- Hire and lead the national field medical team; establish KOL engagement strategies and oversee field medical operations and CRM infrastructure.
- Partner with scientific communications to create and maintain field materials (disease state, clinical research, manuscripts, congress publications) and support onboarding/monitoring of field teams.
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Development, therapeutic area leads, and patient advocacy to support clinical trials as appropriate.
- Align medical information request support with MI and sales; develop compliant policies for field commercial interactions, investigator-sponsored research, grants, and congresses.
- Lead KOL engagement, advocacy, advisory boards, and congress strategy (pre/post deliverables, attendance/staffing, HCP interactions, dinners, advisory boards) and run quarterly strategic insights.
Requirements
- Advanced medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent), PharmD, or PhD with 10+ years of medical affairs experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry.
- 10+ years of medical affairs experience with proven success building and leading field medical teams.
- Experience in rare diseases and launch experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of laws, regulations, standards, and guidance governing field medical interactions.
- US based remote role with preference for local New England based candidates; minimum quarterly travel to Boston, MA and ability to travel up to ~50% as needed.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration across field medical teams, clinical development, commercial, sales, market access, and ability to inform company/product strategy.
