What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS database solutions using RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
• Optimize database performance via query tuning, indexing, and schema design for high-volume transaction systems.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery using AWS services such as Backup and CloudFormation.
• Monitor and maintain database availability, health, and performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and monitoring tools.
• Automate provisioning, maintenance, and scaling with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and reusable scripts/templates.
• Ensure database security with IAM policies, encryption (KMS), auditing, and collaboration with DevOps/CI/CD teams.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, including at least 3 years with AWS database services.
• Expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
• Hands-on experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK).
• Experience integrating databases into CI/CD pipelines and using GitHub/GitLab for shared automation repositories.
