Policy Counsel (AI)

TL;DR

Policy Counsel (AI): Supporting public policy and legal initiatives at the intersection of AI technology and regulation with an accent on AI governance frameworks and regulatory analysis. Focus on navigating emerging policy challenges, drafting advocacy materials, and translating technical AI concepts into legal policy contexts.

Location: Hybrid (Dublin, Ireland). Expected to be in the office at least 25% of the time.

Salary: €200,000 – €240,000

What you will do

• Develop AI governance frameworks aligned with evolving regulations, industry best practices, and global standards.
• Monitor and analyze emerging legislative and regulatory developments related to AI.
• Provide legal analysis and advice to the External Affairs team and other Public Policy stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop practical policy guidance informed by product understanding.
• Draft policy positions, proposals, and advocacy materials.

Requirements

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in a relevant Dublin jurisdiction.
• Experience in policy, regulatory, or government affairs within government, technology companies, or law firms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to make complex legal and technical concepts accessible.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle ambiguous policy questions.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Dublin office (hybrid).

Nice to have

• 6+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Expertise in AI/ML policy, data privacy, copyright, or technology regulation.
• Familiarity with EU or national-level advocacy and Dublin legislative processes.
• Experience drafting regulatory submissions and comment letters.
