What you will do

• Manage the Electrical Engineering department, overseeing staffing, recruitment, and professional development of engineers and technicians.
• Provide technical oversight and leadership across multiple projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance goals are met.
• Implement engineering policies, procedures, and tools for the design, testing, and maintenance of maritime electronics.
• Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Influence senior management regarding staffing plans, budgets, and strategic engineering policies.
• Review and approve new or revised designs, testing protocols, and engineering procedures.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 9+ years of experience in a complex engineering environment.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience managing technical, financial, or personnel resources.
• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects to meet schedule, budget, and technical goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior leadership.
• Ability and willingness to travel (10%) to test sites and supplier locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or Cost Account Management.
• Proficiency in standard engineering design tools such as Altium.
• Experience with proposal development, including RFPs, SOWs, and BOEs.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Visio.
